Meet the Winemaker – Huntington Estate

Host: Chief Winemaker and Owner, Tim Stevens

Spend the evening being guided through a selection of Huntington Estate’s award-winning wines, including Methode Traditionelle, white and red wines paired with mouth-watering canapés on the rooftop Burbury Terrace. Try the full range, enjoy more canapés, chat with Tim and the team and relax with friends.

Born on the land to Queensland Cattle farmers; former press secretary and member of the press gallery, Tim Stevens left Canberra in 1998 for Mudgee to grow grapes and make wine. He bought Huntington Estate from the founding Roberts Family in 2006 taking the winery from ‘strength to strength’ with Gourmet Wine Traveller, naming Huntington ‘Best Small Cellar Door’.

Huntington Estate is one of NSW’s most respected wineries. The wines are Estate grown (from old vines), made & bottled, and built to age, inspired by the fine wines of Bordeaux. Reds are released ready to drink at four to five years of age and will continue to improve over the following 5 to 10 years at least. The wine is only sold direct to customers not via bottle shops; which allows the team to focus on wine quality over packaging and marketing.

Wines on pour will include the 96/100 2015 Special Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, the 96/100 Tim Stevens Signature Shiraz, the 94/100 2016 Special Reserve Shiraz and the 98/100 2012 Block 3 Cabernet Sauvignon.
